Venison Steak in a Slow Cooker
2 lb venison steak
2 cups chopped onion
6 slices of bacon
2 cup water
1/4 cup presifted flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 (12 oz can) chopped tomatoes
Pound steak until tender. In the slow cooker saute the bacon, until
almost done. Remove. Add onion to bacon grease and saute until
almost tender. Put bacon back into the cooker, on top of the onions.
Place venison steak on top with salt, pepper, tomatoes
and garlic salt. Cook on low
for 6-8 hours. Remove the steak to a warming plate. Remove bacon and discard.
Mix flour with a little water and use to thicken the broth in the pan. Serve the
steak with the thickened gravy over it.
