Sugared Gingerbread Cookies
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp molasses
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ginger (heaping)
Cream shortening and sugar. Add well beaten egg and molasses. Mix soda and spices with
sifted flour. combine with the first mixture. Roll into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place
far apart on a cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
If desired, When cool, dip halfway in melted white almond bark or melted vanilla chips
