Strawberry Preserves

2 quarts strawberries, hulled

1 cup water

8 cups sugar

Combine water and sugar in a large pot; cook over low heat stirring until sugar

is dissolved. Bring to a full boil; boil for 5 minutes. Add strawberries to syrup;

cook over medium heat 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Skim, pour into

shallow pans. Cool. Pour into hot sterilized jars; seal at once.
