Strawberry Almond French Toast

1/4 cup sliced almonds

1/2 cup half and half

1/2 cup eggnog

3 large eggs

2 Tbsp honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

8 (1/2 inch thick) slices of day old bread

4 tbsp butter

8 strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced

Powdered sugar for garnish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread almond slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Bake 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fragrant and lightly toasted; let cool.

In a medium bowl, using a wire whisk, combine half and half, eggnog, eggs, honey, vanilla

cinnamon and salt. Pour fixture into a pie pan. Dip b bread slice into mixture and allow to

soak for 30 seconds on each side.

In a 10 inch skillet over medium low heat, melt 1 tbsp butter. Place 2 slices of bread at a time

into the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2-3 minutes per side.

Repeat process three more times. Serve immediately with maple syrup and

garnished with strawberries, toasted almonds and powdered sugar.
