Oh-LaLa Layered Brownies

Brownie Layer

4 1oz squares unsweetened chocolate

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine

2 cups granulated sugar

3 eggs beaten

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup all purpose flour

1 cup chopped peanuts (optional)

Peanut Butter Layer

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup confectioner's sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze

4 1oz squares semisweet chocolate

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large microwavable bowl, heat the unsweetened chocolate and the 3/4 cup butter in the microwave
at high speed for 2 minutes or melt in a saucepan on the stove over low heat. stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the
granulated sugar, then mix in the beaten eggs and 1 tsp vanilla until well blended. Stir in flour and peanuts, then spread into a greased
9" x 13" baking pan. Bake 30-35 min or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out with fudgy crumbs. DO NOT OVERBAKE.
Cool in pan. Meanwhile, in a medium sized bowl, combine the PEANUT BUTTER LAYER ingredients until well blended and smooth.
Spread over cooled brownies. Then place the GLAZE ingredients in a small microwaveable bowl and heat mixture in the microwave for 2
minutes or again use saucepan on stove on low heat) just until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Spread over
peanut butter layer. Cool until set, then cut into squares and say OH LA LA!!

Note: reduce the sugar in the brownies by substituting Splenda brand sugar substitute cup for cup.

You can also reduce the fat by replacing the peanut butter and butter or margarine with a low or no fat butter substitute
