Double Decadent Brownie Tort

BROWNIES

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup granulated sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup all purpose flour

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

CHOCOLATE GLAZE

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

2 Tbsp butter

1 Tbsp corn syrup

1 tsp vanilla

Sliced strawberries for garnish

Butter and flour a 9" round cake pan. In a saucepan, heat butter and

corn syrup until butter is melted. Stir in chocolate chips. Stir until melted.

Add sugar and eggs. Stir until well blended. Stir in vanilla, flour and nuts.

Pour batter into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until center

springs back when touched. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.

Turn out of fan onto a rack. For GLAZE, combine chocolate chips,

butter and corn syrup in saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate

is melted. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Frost top and sides of torte.

Chill until set. Garnish with sliced strawberries. Cut into wedges. Serve

with fresh whipped cream if desired.
