Chocolate Royale Cheesecake
4 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 package (8 squares) semi sweet chocolate, melted and
slightly cooled
1/4 cup hazlenut liqueur (optional)
4 eggs
18 chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed
2 tbsp butter or margarine, softened
To prepare crust, mix chocolate cookie crumbs and butter. Pat into the bottom of a
9" springform pan. To prepare filling, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with an
electric mixer, until well blended. Add chocolate, liqueur and eggs. Mix just until blended.
Pour onto crust.
Bake at 375 degrees for 55-60 minutes, or until center is almost set, if using a silver springform
pan. Run a knife along the rim of the pan to loosen cake. Cool before removing the rim of the pan.
Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight. Makes 12 servings.
