Cherry Jam

1 quart sour cherries

1/4 cup sugar

5 cups sugar

1 bottle liquid pectin

Put cherries and water in a large pot. Bring to a boil; then simmer

for 15 minutes. Add sugar. Bring back to a boil; boil rapidly for 3

minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in pectin; cook, stirring and

skimming constantly, for 5 minutes.

Pour into sterilized jars and seal at once.
