Bran Muffins

1 cup All Bran cereal

1 cup hot water

1 1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup Crisco

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

2 1/2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups bran flakes

Pour water over All Bran cereal and let stand. Beat together sugar, Crisco, and eggs.

Mix this with the bran mixture and add buttermilk. Sift together the flour, baking soda,

and salt; then add to the mixture. Finally, mix in the bran flakes.

Bake in a preheated 375° oven for 14 minutes.
